Our Process

Phase One: Your Showroom Visit

When you visit our showroom for the first time, a Duncan consultant will greet you and take you on a tour of our showroom. Duncan has an up to date and most complete showroom in our area. Our objective is to display as many decorating styles and products as we can in realistic room environments. We will initiate the process by learning about you, your decorating style and your personal vision for your remodeling project. The showroom consultant will complete a lead card and have a designer contact you within 1-2 days of your visit to our showroom. You may also contact us by phone or email, and a designer will respond to your inquiry within the same time frame.

Phase Two: The In-Home Design Consultation

An in-home design consultation will be scheduled when the designer contacts you. Your Duncan designer will visit your home to see the “space” firsthand and discover, in more detail, the goals of your remodeling project. By meeting with you in your home, the designer will learn the direction that your project should take, allowing for the development of that all-important preliminary budget.

We want you to be totally comfortable with Duncan right from the start. There will be no pressure whatsoever; and, of course, there is absolutely no fee for the initial consultation.

Your designer will show you representations of our work along with sample drawings and a sample proposal. You will review a portfolio of some of our recent installations. You and your designer will discuss the scope of the project, some general design elements, and even work out a preliminary timeline for completion.

Your designer will now implement the agreed-upon direction for design and create complete design documentation, including a scaled, detailed floor plan, elevation drawings, interpretive drawings, and specific project costs. You will be invited back to our showroom for a presentation and discussion of the design offered, and also to answer any questions that you may have.

Phase Three: Design Preparation and Documentation

Upon approval of the plans, drawings, and product selection the designer will make any requested revisions and prepare a final estimate. Once you have reviewed the final changes and agree to project costs, a proposal will be prepared for both you and your designer to sign. The proposal will include specifications of all chosen products and installation labor for the implementation of your project. A payment schedule will also be included along with the project’s anticipated start and completion dates.

As soon as your deposit is received, your project will be scheduled and the materials will be ordered. You will be contacted near your scheduled start date once all materials have been received in our warehouse.

Duncan’s Dream Team of skilled craftsmen and installers create the bathroom, kitchen, family room, wine room or laundry/craft room for you and your family to enjoy for years to come.
